Peace of Mind

Although we need to always remember that we need spiritual peace of mind primarily, and shouldn't store up earthly treasures, at the same time, the following pictures give me some peace of mind for the coming cold season.

Most of this wood was cut and split ongoing since last February. However, since hurricane Matthew came through we have been cutting up friends and neighbors trees for the coming year(s). It is keeping us busy. Friday, Thomas and I worked on a big Hickory. This wood will be cook on.

Of course having food gives peace of mind too ....

We are just starting to get our wood in for the winter. It is spring here now on the opposite side of the globe. I have paid to have a custom wood splitter built and have been waiting for it for over 6 months now and I am getting annoyed that it is taking so long but we have been told that it is in the works still. It will split all the way down to kindling which is needed for our wood/cook stove since we do all our cooking and heating water and the house with our wood stove. The smaller the wood the hotter the fire.
I am happy to see you have your wood all stored up and dried for the winter. We too have a hard time keeping the plastic over the wood so I plan on building a wood shed soon. I think I will need a bigger one than yours as we use a whole lot more wood I believe do to the cooking we do. Jim

Our wood shed has worked well, we just need 2 of them.

Funny thing is that cutting and splitting wood has become one of my favorite things to do.

Wood is big business here and they export a lot of wood to the USA as well.
I can not split wood like I used to since my back has continued to deteriorate since my neck surgery, so it is not as enjoyable a chore as it used to be.
I can appreciate the two wood sheds and maybe that is a better approach to take as I will be able to rotate better my inventory. Jim
