Hampshire boar genes are pretty dominant. I am still hoping for a red mix with one of the other sows. Polly here has the lightest coloring of the three.
Well our sow Pearl had piglets this morning. 2 dead after she crushed them. We had thought that she had a month more because we first put her in with our old boar who was not working so well (turns out he was). In either case we now have 3 little piggies which is our first litter here. Maybe she will have more and there is a delay because she was having them when I drove in about 30 min ago and the first two were already crushed. So we will see. Thanks Jim
Wow all of them black and white?
ReplyDeleteThey almost look like GOS!
Lori says they look like Oreo cookie piglets.

ReplyDeleteMaybe she'll have more. 2.5 hours is pretty typical on how long it takes to drop a litter. Good luck with it. Jim
